Rural Youth Poverty Eradication Initiatives (RYPEI) is an indigenous, Non-Governmental Organization working to address the plight of the youth and other underprivileged and marginalized communities especially women to enable them achieve a meaningful quality of life and sustainable livelihoods while building a sustainable future.
RYPEI is a legally registered organisation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs under the NGO Board as well as with the Uganda Registration Services Bureaux as a company limited by guarantee. RYPEI follows an intervention model where farmer groups or associations are formed and strengthened.
The farmers’ groups are trained to acquire both technical and managerial skills which enable them to sustain their entrepreneurial activities. Assessments are made prior to determining the level at which the interventions will start in the respective communities given the level at which the constituting groups are operating where they exist. The new Associations basically focus at the marketing, processing, advocacy and lobbying aspects as they get further prepared to be “weaned off” by RYPEI.
